Buy contact lenses to improve your vision and appearance. Contact lenses information plus tips and tricks on where to buy contact lenses on or off line.

Hey I can dig it...teenagers are teenagers and there is usually something that's hip and cool to be a part of. How about contacts? Not just any eye sight improving contacts but ones that will enhance your appearance. So, buy contact lenses to make you look better? That's it!

Okay, if you are going to buy contact lenses then to be part of the in crowd you need to buy color contact lenses. But to our teenage community reading this; do you know how to buy contact lenses. There is so much available out there today. So let's look at a few pointers.

How To Buy Contact Lenses

Tip #1.. Look for the best value for your money, not only at the price – there are many contact lenses which are more popular than other brands because they have better follow up service, better customer service and better promotional offers. Look not only at the price (even if you are on a tight budget), but also at the things you get while buying certain brands in the market.

Tip #2.. Be well informed about the pros and cons of the leading brands – check out the information available on the Net and speak with your doctor and maybe a few specialists before you settle on the brand and type that would best suit you. Do not be in a hurry here, as a wrong decision could be really dangerous.

Tip #3.. Go only for leading brands – the low cost that other brands offer will always be tempting. However, the eyes are not really organs that you can experimented with.

Tip #4.. There are many instances when cheap brands caused complications. Do not risk your eyes for saving a few dollars – it is not worth it. You should always look at the brand and quality of the lens, and not from which outlet you are buying it. The service and assurance of quality comes with the brand and not with the shop

Tip #5.. Shop around for the best choice – you can (as per the law) copy your prescription and go to other places to buy contact lenses or any eye wear. Use this opportunity to look around and choose the best brand for your needs.

Good Vision Is Important

I cannot stress enough on the importance of having a good quality contact lens. Any deviation that a cheaper version may give you can cause a number of complications that would prove much costlier for you and sometimes cause irreversible damage to your eyes.

Do not take any chances when it comes to your eyes. Buy the best and buy the safest brand available.

Again, being vigilant in your purchase is vital. I'm not endorsing that you buy contact lenses just because it's the fashionable thing to do. But what I do want you to consider is at least visiting your doctor or seeing an eye specialist to either get some solid medical advice or further information about the use of contact.

Makeup on a plane? What can be brought?

I'm studying abroad in Rome for 3 months in the fall. I was curious about what makeup and beauty products (shampoo, contact lens solution, makeup remover) I'm allowed to bring on a plane, and in what quantities I can bring it in checked and carry on bags. Are restrictions only put on what you take in your carry on bags - can you bring bigger quantites if you put them in your carry on instead of your checked bag?
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, I've never been out of the country or on a plane before!

Put it in your checked bag. Then there isn't a limit. But if you are going to be in Rome for 3 months, I'd say just buy the shampoo and easy stuff like that there. Its less you have to carry, and less weight you have to deal with.

Don't forget to keep your passport with you!

Have you thought about using the sale of your business as an exit strategy?

Most people who own a small to mid-sized company - like I did - would say, "No." This is because business owners - at least the good ones - are consumed with the minutiae and daily pressures first of operating a company and then of making said company profitable. Additionally, we tend to look at businesses in which we have invested blood, sweat, and tears (not to mention money) emotionally and not in a detached, business-like manner. As a result, rarely does the notion that another individual or group of investors might want to acquire what we have constructed enter our mind. This is particularly so when the business is a successful one. Why would we want to sell our successful company?

While this is understandable, it is also somewhat counterintuitive. This is because most successful business owners ascribe to the philosophy of "buying low and selling high" for all items - except when it comes to their own business.

This is why it is imperative for business owners to entertain the notion of divestiture as an exit strategy.

If you are like so many other entrepreneurs and you have worked hard building a successful business, you owe it to yourself to at least ponder the notion of selling your company. Whether the sale would be to raise capital for another investment or lead to your retirement is up to you. But it is advisable that while you are exploring your options you work with an experienced business broker or mergers and acquisitions company that can provide you with an accurate business valuation - the amount that your business is worth to a ready, willing, and able buyer in the present market. (This is another notion - the value of one's business - that so many entrepreneurs struggle with. They invariably know that they have a successful business, but oftentimes grossly underestimate its value on the open market.)

If, for one reason or another, one does ultimately arrive at the decision to sell, it is imperative to entrust the arrangement of the sale to someone who is just as professional in finding the right buyer as the owner has been in building the business. To locate the right buyer, a good mergers and acquisitions or business brokerage firm should begin by getting to know you and your business. The firm must understand what makes it unique - that is what differentiates it from its closest competition - and what makes it valuable to the potential buyer. In short, the firm must create a company profile package that truthfully presents your business in its best light. This is often done in the form of a presentation book, but video is often an added feature that assists potential buyers in seeing the value of a company.

Once that has been done, the firm of your choice should compile a discreet marketing plan that includes a search of a proprietary database of pre-screened buyers and/or investors that might be interested in taking a closer look at the company. Naturally - and this is crucial - this all must take place in a fully secure, confidential manner that keeps one's desire to sell from his or her employees and competitors. As we all know, loose lips sink more than ships - they can ruin companies.

At the time that the firm locates an interested buyer, it must remain involved in the process by assisting in the negotiation of a sales price and terms that both the seller and buyer are agreeable to. Wherever and whenever needed, the firm must be able to provide access to valuation experts, accountants, financing sources and attorneys, all of whom should have extensive business acquisition experience.

So, if you are presently operating a business - regardless of your personal opinion of its success relative to other similar businesses - it might be time to at least investigate the possibility of divesting yourself of the company. Sale prices are traditionally determined by multiples of a company's net revenue, so a company that brings in a net profit of $300,000 may very well be worth $900,000 on the market, depending upon the industry.

Steve Odierno is an entrepreneur and Partner in Ridge Partners, [http://www.ridgepartners.info], a Mergers and Acquisitions Firm as well as a Private Equity Group. He is also a Principal Owner of Eye Care Associates, LLC., operator of www.clecontactlenses.com, a Fully Licensed Contact Lens Retailer serving the online community since 1998. Steve is a graduate of Boston College and Fordham University and resides in New York with his wife and two children.

What company makes Walgreen's brand soft contact lens solution?

I am asking because of the fungal problems recently in the news associated with Bausch and Lomb products. I am also interested in the Walmart brand (Equate?) lens cleaners.

Store brands are not necessarily equivalent to the name brands. The stores buy the product from different manufacturers, so each batch of a store brand solution could come from a different manufacturer. Your best bet is to go with a brand that your eye doctor recommends. Give him/her a quick call for the best results.

Contact lens wearers have always focused on the selection and fitting of their contact lenses. However, with the exception of perhaps selecting a 'nifty' color, less attention is paid by many to the lens case in which their contacts will be stored. This is an oversight that could lead to serious eye-health problems.

Currently, a large portion of research in the contact lens field centers on preventing and treating infections that result from contaminated lenses. The condition of contact lens cases must also be considered a factor; especially when a recent study* discovered that nearly one quarter of cases in use are never replaced. This is extremely alarming because when not properly cared for or discarded, these cases become reservoirs for dangerous bacteria that threaten the health of the wearer's eyes. The implications are more serious when realizing that an increasing number of children are being fitted for contacts. If parents are lax in lens care, it is logical to assume that this behavior will be passed onto their kids.

One very serious condition that can stem from unclean contact lens cases is acanthamoeba keratitis. This is a microbial infection that in its advanced stages leads to ulceration of the cornea and the need for a corneal transplant. Symptoms include irritation, sensitivity to light, tearing, and the feeling that something is in the eye. At times diagnosis is not immediate, as these symptoms mirror other types of eye infections.

Whether it is due to neglect or lack of awareness, the negative trend in lens case care must be reversed. Nearly 80% of complications related to contact use are due to patients not applying proper care techniques. The important thing to remember is that contacts are not just fashionable accessories, but regulated medical devices that require the utmost diligence (and that includes cases) to safeguard your eyes.

Recommended contact lens case replacement is once a month, and during the time a case is kept the following steps should be taken:

Always wash hands before handling contact lens or the lens case.

Never use tap water (which may contain bacteria) to clean lens cases. Use a solution and air-dry with the lids open.

Never 'top-off' old solution with new. Use fresh solution each time you store the lenses.

Do not allow solution bottle tips to touch any surface, including your body, as this leads to contamination.

Do not use solutions past their expiration date.

How do I know if im wasting contact lens solution and is One bottle of solution for one pair of lenses?

My first question is how do I know if I am wasting contact lens solution. There are so many steps to cleaning and stuff. You have to soak them in your hands, rinse them, fill up the case, rise the case. That is a lot of solution don't you think? My second question is one bottle of solution for one pair of contacts? If so where can I buy contact solution without buying the contacts?

All the drug stores sell contact lens solutions and none require buying lenses. Read the instructions on each box to see how much solution is required and make sure it's for your type of lens.

MoisturePLUS soft contact lens solution recalled. Eye solution causes (AK) rare acanthamoeba keratitis. Here is what you should know if youÂ’re suffering from vision loss caused by AMO contact lens solution.

AMO Contact Lens Cleaner Recall Timeline

In May 2006, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) informed the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) about a possible increase in acanthamoeba keratitis (AK) at an Illinois ophthalmology center during the preceding three years. The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) was investigating this possible increase.

In October 2006, IDPH updated CDC about the ongoing University of Illinois at Chicago investigation. At that time, the CDC informally contacted multiple ophthalmology centers in the United States to assess whether the potential increase in cases extended beyond Illinois. Unfortunately at that time, responses from the ophthalmology centers were inconclusive.

On Jan. 19, 2007, the CDC decided to formally contact a sample of major ophthalmology centers, requesting numbers of cases from 1999 to 2006 along with their method of diagnosis. Results received by early March 2007 indicate the number of culture-confirmed acanthamoeba keratitis cases had increased, beginning in 2004 to the present.

On March 16, 2007, CDC initiated a multi-state investigation to look for risk factors associated with this increase in acanthamoeba keratitis cases. This report summarized recent preliminary results of that investigation, which indicated an association with soft contact lens wearers who used Advanced Medical Optics Complete® MoisturePlus™ multipurpose cleaning solution.

On May 29, 2007, CDC and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have taken steps to notify the public and the medical and public health communities of this preliminary association. The manufacturer, Advanced Medical Optics, has undertaken a voluntary recall of the product.

As of May 24, 2007, 138 people with AK who became ill on or after January 1, 2005 and who tested positive for Acanthamoeba by cultures taken from corneal specimens had been reported to CDC by public health authorities and ophthalmologists from 35 states and Puerto Rico.

Among the 46 culture-confirmed patients who were interviewed, for 37 of these patients, medical therapy was unsuccessful for nine and they were required or expected to undergo corneal transplantation.

Among the 39 soft contact lens users, 36 reported using one or more specific types of contact lens solution, 21 reported any use of Advanced Medical Optics Complete MoisturePlus in the month before symptom onset, 20 reported using Advanced Medical Optics Complete MoisturePlus as their primary solution, and 14 reported using Advanced Medical Optics Complete MoisturePlus as their exclusive solution.

What is acanthamoeba keratitis? AK, is a rare but potentially blinding infection of the cornea, caused by a ubiquitous, free-living ameba (Acanthamoeba) that is found commonly in the environment, including water (tap and recreational water), soil, sewage systems, cooling towers, and heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems. AK primarily affects otherwise healthy persons who wear contact lenses.

An estimated 85 percent of U.S. acanthamoeba keratitis infection cases occur in contact lens wearers. AK is often difficult to diagnose.

Contact lens wearers should be advised to see an ophthalmologist if you have any of the following symptoms. These symptoms are not the same for everyone and can last weeks and months.

Eye pain

Eye redness

Blurred vision

Sensitivity to light

Sensation of something in the eye

Excessive tearing

How do you get help? If you used Advanced Medical Optics Complete MoisturePlus (AMO contact lens solution) and youÂ’ve been diagnosed with acanthamoeba keratitis, you need to talk to a lawyer after seeing a doctor. Although Advanced Medical Optics voluntary recalled the product, they are still liable for its safety. As a consumer you trust the products you buy especially anything you put in your eyes. You may eligible for a lawsuit. Contact a law firm to get help and evaluate the facts. Find a firm with a winning track record of product negligence.

Prescription glasses have traditionally been a very expensive commodity to buy. Unfortunately, for many of us (myself included), it is necessary to buy them in order to correct our vision and thus lead normal lives. The good news is, however, that it is now very easy to order prescription glasses online. Let me explain how.

In the old days, we used to trudge off to the opticians and have our eyes tested. Typically our National Health Service or private health insurance scheme would pay for all or most of this cost. That part was never that expensive anyway. But once the eye test was complete, many of us need then to organise a pair of glasses for us to see properly again (or replace our existing pair because our prescription has changed slightly).

The next stage is that we have the task or trying on frames to find ones that suit us. For me, and I would imagine a lot of people, we find the frame we like, only to find out they are far too expensive for our budgets, because guess what, our lovely governments generally don't pick up the tab for our eye correction! Not stupid are they?

So, generally, we get priced out of the glasses that we really like because the frames are so expensive. Frustrating, especially when you can buy a nice pair of 'sunnies', for less than $50, and let's face it, the frame materials aren't too dissimilar!

However, our lovely new technology, computers, capitalism and manufacturing techniques are bringing down the barriers and cost of glasses all the time. This is fantastic news for people like me who have worn glasses most of my life and will carry on wearing them til the day I die.

There are now many retailers who are offering prescription glasses online. Not only that, they are much lower in price compared to the high street. Some offer as much as 75% off compared to what you would normally pay. And guess what? This means you could buy a pair of designer prescription glasses for less than your normal non-brand name specs. How cool is that?

There are certain things you need to be wary of and I would recommend you follow my advice on this. Your eyes are precious to you, but if you do what I did, I believe you will be fine.  So, here are several tips for you if you are interested in saving heaps of cash if you want to order prescription glasses online.

The first thing to do is visit your optician, get your eyes checked and ensure he gives you a prescription. This prescription is your key to saving dollars, and in most countries, it is law that he gives it to you.

Secondly, search online to find a retailer that not only sells low cost prescription glasses, but is also a registered optician or has been in the business for many years, so therefore knows what he is talking about. I repeat, find a retailer that is also a registered optician or manufacturer.Â

Thirdly, take advantage of any special offers or promotion codes you can find. In these hard times, retailers are falling over themselves to make sales and so offer many incentives and special offers in order to make the sale. You could end up with free anti reflection lenses or a second pair of glasses at half price for example. Or something like that.

Fourthly, make sure that the retailer offers you a 100% money back guarantee in case you make a mistake.

By following these simple steps, you will ensure that you will be sure to save a small fortune on your prescription glasses, and to boot they will be every bit as good as the ones you would buy in your local optician for a fraction of the price!

What have you got to lose?

So, do you want to save lots of money on your prescription glasses? Click here and find out more!

Prices for prescription contact lenses?

Ok. I am 12 years old and wear glasses normally (you know, like all the time, but take them off at night), and have had them for about 5 years. i have bad vision, [i think that wouldnt matter though], and would LOVE contacts,
because i look better with them off.

i think it would help if whoever is reading this that i live in the Metro detroit/ wayne county area in michigan. i am looking for prices for contacts.

but not daily contacts, i would hate those.

so to narrow it down, here is what i want to know::

1. how much an exam would cost for contacts in my area
2. how much a yearly supply of contacts would cost with an average deal.

now answer this question dangit!

Boy, aren't you a little demanding? lol, you must be excited! I don't live in your area, but I can give you some info, so take it DANGIT! lol.
Exams for contacts are going to run anywhere from $85-$175 depending on where you go and what type of contacts you need. You should be on the cheaper side, it's not like you need complicated toric bifocal contacts ( I know you are saying "what??!") In my office the exam would be between $115 and $135. Plus we charge a $25 training fee to teach you how to put them in, take them out, clean them and take care of them. That would include a trial pair of contacts (so you can leave the office with your new contacts on), contact lens solution, and any trials and follow ups with doctor you need for the next six months.
The contacts themselves really depend on what kind your doctor prescribes for you. The two week lenses cost between $20-$40 a six pack so 2 boxes of those would last you about 3 months. Monthly lenses cost between $30-$70 a six pack, so 2 boxes of those would last about 6 months.
A lot of manufacturers have rebates when you purchase a year supply, and your insurance may pick up a portion of the costs, that is something you parents would need to check into.
Good luck!

A Breakthrough in Contact Lenses: Multifocal Contact Lenses

Multifocal contact lenses have been around for a long time, yet the on hand add power was negligible and the success rate was not at a acceptable level. Well, those days are over. Big name multifocal contact lens companies like Cooper Vision and Bausch and Lomb have come up with new planned replacement multifocals. These big name manufacturers are only the tip of the iceberg. Unilens, PolyVue, and Blanchard, to name a few, have each created their own successful designs. Varying add powers on many of these lenses allow us to create a truly personalized vision system for our patients. There are even successful options for patients with high astigmatism.

Serving Two Purposes at a Time:

What makes multifocal lens so extraordinary? For starters, let's take a look at the hybrid aspect. The optical center of this lens is manufactured with very breathable gas permeable material known as Paragon HDS 100. The '100' refers to the DK, which is a measure of oxygen permeability, and let's just say that 100 are very high. What does this mean for your eye? It will breathe easy as you wear your lenses. So let's look at the benefit of making the center of this multifocal contact lens out of this gas permeable material. Optically speaking, gas permeable lenses are far superior to there soft lens counterparts. Gas permeable lenses are essentially a smooth piece of plastic that is polished to a finish; therefore they provide wearers unbelievably sharp vision. Multifocal lenses provide, well, soft vision. They are prone to fluctuation with dehydration and wear time. At best, the visual acuity of a multifocal lens is never as crisp as a gas permeable lens.

Then, don't forget that this particular lens is a multifocal, it is designed to correct both your distance vision and near vision for reading. Every contact lens fitter knows that for best multifocal success, fit gas permeable lenses. However, there has always been a comfort stigma associated with straight gas perms. Now with the soft lens skirt, this multifocal is sure to change the way we all fit and wear contact lenses. In short, the comfort of a multifocal lens with the vision of a gas permeable lens is finally available in a multifocal. This truly is a breakthrough design in contact lenses.

Proper And Regular Checkups:

The clean-up of your case will help keep microorganisms from growing where you store your lenses. These are just a few important ways to care for your contact lenses and especially your eyes. Before getting any type of contact lens you need to see your eye doctor for an examination and a prescription for lenses. This will help you decide what types of contacts are best for you.

Astigmatism contact lens CHEAP? what are the best contacts for astigmatism? which type are cheapest not 2week?

hi i have astigmatism my rx is...
power bc dia cyl axis
R +2.25 8.60 14.50 -0.75 20
L +3.50 8.60 14.50 -1.75 160

i want to know what are my cheapest options? i wont mind wearing hard contacts or kind of unconfortable i want my options for astigmatism (i think also called toric) from the cheapest to the most commercial and lifetime just to be able to tell im kinda new thanks

cheapest in the long run is definitely hard. they're more expensive up front, but if you take care of them they can last literally years.

cheapest torics i can think of are soflens toric by bausch & lomb and vertex toric by coopervision, but both are 2 week.

dont know off the top of my head what the cheapest non-2-week is.

Chronic dry eye problem is caused, when tears produced by the eyes are insufficient to moisturize and protect the eyes. There are some environmental factors, which are responsible for chronic dry eyes problems such as weather, pollution and dust. When people suffer from chronic dry eyes problems, they experience problems such as continuous irritation in eyes, inflammation and a feeling of pricking in eyes.

Severe dry eyes problem is one of the most frequent difficulties faced by many people who are working on a computer. The most common symptoms of this problem is burning , itching, irritation , redness, blurred vision that improves with blinking , excessive tearing and increasing discomfort after periods of reading , watching TV, or working on a computer.

There are some symptoms, which are helpful to determine if a person is suffering from this complaint such as feeling unpleasantness in the eyes , feeling of presence of foreign object in the eyes, or feeling redness and excessive tearing are the most common reasons that helps a person to determine if he is suffering from chronic dry eyes.

Some people may feel continuous pain in their eyes and other similar discomfort symptoms. These are the most common chronic eye symptoms. Sometimes due to lack of tear production people feel strain in their eyes. This is also a common symptom of dry eyes.

There are treatments and guidelines, which help people to get relief from dry eye such as using watery treatments, artificial tears and other dry eye solutions. It is important to understand that proper eye care for this ailment is little different from other eye treatments many people may feel relief after using artificial tears on regular basis. Some of the treatments are watery and alleviate the symptoms temporary. For others preservative free tears are recommended because they are most gentle and have fewer additives that would potentially irritate. It has been recommended by doctors not to use products that whiten eyes because they do not have sufficient lubricating qualities and they can make problem even more severe.

Consistent eye care is essential to get relief from dry eyes; this may improve irritation from sore eyes. Blinking eyes frequently may help to care for the eyes when a person is reading or watching television. It is not recommended by eye physician to rub itched eyes because it only worsens the irritation.

Discover more ways to find dry eye relief at: http://www.dry-eye-irritation.com

Dry Eye Irritation

What are some of the best colored contact lens cleaners out there?

Im using soft contacts right now, and so far, alot of the solutions dont work for me. After about a week of using the contacts, it would irritate my eye when it put in the lens. I switched to Clear Care and it was the BEST solution i ever used. NEVER irritated my eyes at all. Clear Care is the most expensive solution available here, so what are some of the best for colored contacts? Is there anything thats sort of like Clear Care? A solution thats preservative free?

Clear care is a pretty unique product and not real popular. The reason for that is that a lot of people do not follow instructions all that well. If you don't follow instructions exactly, Clear Care can really burn. The reason that Clear Care does not bother your eyes like the other solutions is that it is a hydrogen peroxide system. Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. Over night that little gear thing turns it into oxygen and water. All other systems use some type of preservative. Back when people kept there lenses a long time, it was thought that the hydrogen peroxide would eventually bleach the color out of a colored lens. This shouldn't be an issue if you keep your lenses less than a month. Your other option would be to wear daily replacement lenses. I don't think that will cost any less than using Clear Care though.

A daily care routine is an essential part of owning Acuvue Oasys contact lenses. There are a few basic care needs that one should be aware before using these contact lenses. If you are unable to follow a routine, unable to insert and remove the lenses, or have another person insert and remove the lenses, then it would be wise to rethink the need or desire for contact lenses. If you are great at a routine then there are a few basics you will need to follow.

Before you go home for the first time with contact lenses, make sure you insert and remove them while you are still at the Optometrist or eye care specialist's office as this will help clear up any questions. Before handling the lenses make sure your hands are washed and dried thoroughly. A common mistake that can be made is putting the lens in your mouth to lubricate or moisten it, or using tap water to clean or moisten the lens. Unfortunately, this could lead to accidentally swallowing the lens or dropping it into the sink drain.  Also, tap water contains impurities that can contaminate the lens or could lead to eye infections, possibly even injuring the eye.

The first time you purchase a pair of lenses, be sure to get a recommended cleaning and disinfection routine as well as instructions about care, handling, and cleaning. The eye care specialist will be able to teach you about proper care procedures and will suggest the best products to use for the type of lenses you have. When you remove your lenses, they must be cleaned and disinfected before you put them back in your eyes.

In order to continue safe and comfortable wear of the lenses, it is important that you first clean, rinse, and disinfect your lenses after each removal. Be sure to do this by using the lens care products and procedures that have been originally recommended by your eye care specialist. Ideally, it is best to form the habit of cleaning of the lenses as soon as they are removed from your eyes. Cleaning and rinsing are needed to remove mucus, secretions, films and protein deposits that may have built up on your lenses during wear.

Always follow the set routine and use the recommended products to avoid any serious eye problems. If you wish to change products for some reason, it is highly recommended to consult with your eye care specialist about the product before doing so. There may be many reasons why you should not or cannot safely use the new product. Also, keep track of expiry dates on lenses and all the lens care products. Do not mix lens care systems with other products because not all products will be compatible with others.

Basic Cleaning Rules

-Â Always clean the same lens first to avoid mix-ups when the time comes to insert them again.

-Â Always follow the instructions provided on the cleaning solution label and from the eye care specialist.

-Â After the cleaning is completed, rinse the lens with the recommended rinsing solution to remove the cleaning solution as well as any mucus and film from the lens surface.

-Â Once the process is completed, put the lens into the correct chamber of your lens storage case.

Disinfecting

-Â After the cleaning is completed, disinfect the lenses using the system recommended by your eye care specialist, following the instructions given and /or written on the product label.

-Â When using hydrogen peroxide lens care systems, the lenses must first be neutralized before wearing.

-Â Be sure to thoroughly rinse the lenses with a fresh solution before inserting and wearing your lenses. Take caution with lenses that are chemically disinfected, as they could absorb ingredients found in the solution. These chemicals could irritate the eye, so to avoid this, thoroughly rinse the lenses in a fresh and sterile saline solution just before inserting the lens in the eye.

Proper care of your Acuvue Oasys contact lens is a necessary responsibility. Cleaning is an important part of lens care. Improper cleaning can eventually ruin the lenses. To maintain fresh lenses, they must be cleaned, rinsed, and disinfected daily.

Ok to use generic contact lens solution?

I just recently got contacts...like a week and a half ago, and the doctor gave me the Opti-Free Replinish to use. That bottle's empty, so I wanted to know if it was ok to switch to generic brand. I checked the Wal-Mart brands out, but the ingredients aren't really the same, although they do have the same directions...would this be ok?

Yes, you can use the generic stuff, it's the same thing.
The doctor or the place you got your contacts from only give you the starter kit given to them by whatever company. They may have several companies that give them satarter kits, sometimes they'll ask you which one you prefer to use. They do this so you'll buy more of their product.
But truly it okay to use store brand. The reason that the ingreients are different is that some are just saline and others have the "no Rub" "No'Heat" other clean the lenses in shorter amount of time. but really theres no difference. As long as you wear them according to the doctors orders you'll be fine.
