Ophthalmologists (M.D. or D.O.) are eye surgeons who study and treat eye diseases and can also perform the duties of optometrists; optometrists (O.D.) examine eyes, diagnose and treat vision problems, and prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses and in most states they also can prescribe medicine; opticians grind and dispense eyeglasses and in some states dispense contact lenses. With a contact lens prescription in hand, it's possible to buy your contact lenses from stores, the Internet, over the phone, or by mail. Among the many kinds of contact lenses you can buy are: novelty, colored, crazy, Halloween, special effects, theatrical, costume, scary, glow in the dark, wild eyes, mirrored, black, white, and red.

All correcting contact lenses must have a valid prescription from an ophthalmologist or optometrist. Be careful about buying cheap contact lenses, they may not be the quality you want; discounted quality contact lenses are the most desirable.

Soft lenses also come as disposable products, that is, used once and discarded, or as planned-replacement lenses. Extended wear contact lenses are used for overnight or continuous wear ranging from one to six nights or up to 30 days. Soft contact lenses are made of soft, flexible plastics that allow for oxygen to pass through to the cornea.

There are two general categories of contact lenses - soft and rigid gas permeable. The length of continuous lens wear depends on the lens type and your doctor's evaluation of your tolerance for overnight wear. Some doctors prescribe disposables as planned-replacement lenses, which are removed, disinfected, and reused before being discarded.

Newer soft lens materials include silicone-hydrogels to provide more oxygen to your eyes. In some models, each lens corrects for near and distance vision and in others, one lens is for near vision, and the other is for distance. Extra-thin soft lenses are on the market for very sensitive people.

While the ability to hold water increases the oxygen permeability of soft lenses, it increases their fragility quotient as well. People who have good distance vision but need help for reading can get a monovision reading lens for one eye.

Check out how long the online supplier has been in business before you buy. Beware of attempts to substitute a brand different from the one you want when buying contacts. When you receive your order, if you think you've received an incorrect contact lens, check with your doctor or eye care professional right away; don't accept any substitution unless your eye care professional approves it.

Rebates may be available from the seller, from the manufacturer, for first-time contact lens wearers and for individuals who buy lenses and get an eye exam. You can buy contact lenses from an eye doctor, on the Internet, from an optical store or a warehouse club. When you place your order make sure your lenses are available and not out of stock, because you'll need them now.

Buy your contact lenses from a supplier you're familiar with and know is reliable or has name familiarity. Always ask what rebates are available. Before you buy online, check to see if there are any testimonials at the online supplier's website.

To be sure your eyes remain healthy you shouldn't order lenses with a prescription that's expired or stock up on lenses right before the prescription is about to expire; it's much safer to be re-checked by your eye doctor. One sight-threatening concern is the infection Acanthamoeba keratitis, which is caused by improper lens care; this difficult-to-treat parasitic infection's symptoms are similar to those of corneal ulcers. The most serious safety concern with any contact lens is from overnight use.

Extended-wear rigid lenses can cause unexpected, undesirable, reshaping of the cornea. Replace your contacts as recommended by your eye doctor because they wear out as time goes by. If your eyes become red or irritated, remove the lenses immediately and consult with your doctor.

No matter which lenses your doctor prescribes, be sure to ask for written instructions and follow them carefully. If you're planning to buy contact lenses, you should buy the best quality you can get, even at a higher price; you don't want to skimp on quality when it comes to your eyes. It's becoming easier and easier all the time to shop online and often the shipping is free.

contact lenses?

my biggest problem is that im a bit of a hypochondriac. put that together with a moment of not being attentive and u get a real tragedy. so, what i did is i washed my face with my contacts in. im not quite sure if water actually went in my eyes, my best guess is it didnt. however, 10 minutes later i took them out, cuz i read online that u can get keratitis and go blind if water and contacts interact. rite now my contacts are in a peroxide based solution, so i have no doubt that every living thing that once existed on them will die. my question is...will my eyes b okay after this episode?

I wear contacts all the time... I wear them sometimes when I sleep, whear them in the shower, when I go to the pool, tubing down the river.... They are made to wear for all kinds of things... If you get water in your eye it will sometimes make your contact fall out.. But I have never had that happen. It has never given me and kind of infection either... You don't have much to be worried about at all.

A Breakthrough in Contact Lenses: Multifocal Contact Lenses

Multifocal contact lenses have been around for a long time, yet the on hand add power was negligible and the success rate was not at a acceptable level. Well, those days are over. Big name multifocal contact lens companies like Cooper Vision and Bausch and Lomb have come up with new planned replacement multifocals. These big name manufacturers are only the tip of the iceberg. Unilens, PolyVue, and Blanchard, to name a few, have each created their own successful designs. Varying add powers on many of these lenses allow us to create a truly personalized vision system for our patients. There are even successful options for patients with high astigmatism.

Serving Two Purposes at a Time:

What makes multifocal lens so extraordinary? For starters, let's take a look at the hybrid aspect. The optical center of this lens is manufactured with very breathable gas permeable material known as Paragon HDS 100. The '100' refers to the DK, which is a measure of oxygen permeability, and let's just say that 100 are very high. What does this mean for your eye? It will breathe easy as you wear your lenses. So let's look at the benefit of making the center of this multifocal contact lens out of this gas permeable material. Optically speaking, gas permeable lenses are far superior to there soft lens counterparts. Gas permeable lenses are essentially a smooth piece of plastic that is polished to a finish; therefore they provide wearers unbelievably sharp vision. Multifocal lenses provide, well, soft vision. They are prone to fluctuation with dehydration and wear time. At best, the visual acuity of a multifocal lens is never as crisp as a gas permeable lens.

Then, don't forget that this particular lens is a multifocal, it is designed to correct both your distance vision and near vision for reading. Every contact lens fitter knows that for best multifocal success, fit gas permeable lenses. However, there has always been a comfort stigma associated with straight gas perms. Now with the soft lens skirt, this multifocal is sure to change the way we all fit and wear contact lenses. In short, the comfort of a multifocal lens with the vision of a gas permeable lens is finally available in a multifocal. This truly is a breakthrough design in contact lenses.

Proper And Regular Checkups:

The clean-up of your case will help keep microorganisms from growing where you store your lenses. These are just a few important ways to care for your contact lenses and especially your eyes. Before getting any type of contact lens you need to see your eye doctor for an examination and a prescription for lenses. This will help you decide what types of contacts are best for you.

Today was your very first day wearing contact lenses and now it’s time to remove them. But the task seems daunting and you feel a little intimidated. “Removing contact lenses isn’t hard,” you say to “psych” yourself up.

Remember the technician at the optometrist’s office showing you how to remove them? She even made you practice putting them in and taking them out – twice! But that was at the office with someone walking you through it, step by step. Now you’re all alone. You remember it involves “touching” your eyeball at some point.

Wait a minute. The doctor sent you home with an abundance of reading material. There must be something about removing contact lenses. You shuffle through the paperwork and there it is. A laminated card that clearly explains how to remove your contact lenses, step by step.

The first step is only common sense, but you had forgotten all about it. “Wash your hands before handling your contacts”, it says. In fact, this morning you had even remembered to switch out your customary perfumed, moisturizing soap with something more basic. The optometrist told you those types of soap leave residue on your fingers that will smudge your contacts and get into your eye.

You also remember that this morning you almost dropped a contact in the sink. So tonight you will cover the sink with a clean, lint-free towel or paper towel or maybe even use another mirror away from the drain.

After you thoroughly wash and dry your hands, you are ready for step two. “Have your contact case fully prepared and ready for storage.” This morning, after you put in your contacts, you emptied and rinsed your contact case and both caps and stored them upside down on a clean paper towel to dry. Now, it is ready to be filled with the recommended storage or cleaning solution. You realize it is so much easier to fill the contact case before you take out your first contact. It is very difficult to prepare your storage case while simultaneously holding a contact on your fingertip.

Your hands are clean and dry, the area is prepared, and your contact lens storage case is filled with clean solution. “We must be getting close to actually removing the contact lenses,” you think to yourself. The next steps confirm your expectation.

“Hold your eye open with your non-dominant hand. While looking up or sideways, gently “pinch” the contact with your thumb and index finger.” That doesn’t seem too hard. By looking in a different direction, you don’t actually touch your eye, just the contact lens. Always start with the same eye every day when putting your contacts in or removing them. It may not seem so at first, but this task will eventually become such a mundane routine that you may unwittingly switch them.

Do the same with the other eye and itÂ’s as easy as that. You have removed your contact lenses properly and safely. Let them soak overnight or at least the minimum amount of time recommended by the cleaning and disinfecting solution. Next time you are ready to wear your contact lenses they will be sparkling clean and as good as new.

Sight is one of the most important senses. You just canÂ’t imagine living with blurred vision or in complete darkness. Once vision is affected regardless of the cause, it may make oneÂ’s life a bit difficult to perform everyday tasks even in broad daylight.

A simple case of blurred vision can be easily corrected. Eyeglasses were invented to help anyone suffering from it. When contact lenses were introduced, many switched to try the promised benefit of contact lenses. Today contact lenses have become trendier than before. The old contact lenses were not colored but now you can see more color contact lenses available.

Color contact lenses enhance the eyes of the wearer and at the same time provide corrective function to the eyes. Contact lenses may also be used for various purposes. Some do not even have corrective function and are used merely for fun.

Contact lenses have different tints that serve different purpose. The blue or the green color contact lenses are specifically for ease of insertion or removal; because of its light tint, it can be identified easily unlike the colorless contact lenses which are difficult to place above the cornea.

Deep tinted color contact lenses are primarily for eye color enhancement. For those avid color contact lenses wearers, this will suit their eyes to really look very blue or green. One thing that is really annoying about deep tinted color contact lenses is when it slips from its place, it can block the vision of the wearer which might become cumbersome and dangerous. Instead of helping to facilitate better vision, it would do otherwise.

Other tinted color contact lenses are the opaque contact lenses. This type of color contact lenses while correcting vision problem changes the existing eye color as well. So if you want to sport violet eyes today and don a pair of turquoise contact lenses the next day, the opaque contact lenses are just the right one for you.

Color contact lenses, like the colorless, are prescribed by eye care specialist or your optometrist. They canÂ’t be worn without the doctorÂ’s advice. This is to make sure that the contact lenses you are about to wear just fit your eyesÂ’ vision requirement. The doctor can also give you suggestions in using and maintaining your contact lenses.

Color contact lenses are available from Johnson and Johnson, Wesley Jessen, Bausch and Lomb, and CIBA Vision. These brands are sold among eye care specialist and eye specialty shops. Different brands are priced competitively; before buying one, compare prices and service warranty.

Most people would prefer not to wear glasses. Why? Well the general perception is that no matter what color, size or style they are, they can, in the main, look unattractive.

If you wear glasses, have you considered color contact lenses. In fact, a cheap color contact lens can improve your appearance aesthetically as well as providing correct vision.

The amazing fact is that a cheap color lens can also be worn by people with perfect vision. The enhancement they can give cosmetically is a big reason for this.

Stick With The Brand Names

Certain type of contact lenses can be very comfortable if you order a well-known brand. A cheap color contact lens can be used everyday even though some people only use them to change their eye color for a certain occasions like job interviews or dates.

These spectacular lenses are available in many striking colors perfect for anyone with any natural eye color. Anyone who likes to constantly change their look can buy more than one color set of cheap contact lenses because of their low price.

Get Attention

If you want to get noticed, try a cheap color contact lens in colors noticeably darker or lighter than your natural eye color. If you have never considered color lenses, you can try it for an enjoyable change. When they are economical, you have nothing to lose. After all, new color contact lenses are the perfect reason to buy a new wardrobe and take on a fresh new look.

Luckily, you can get these color contact lenses without a prescription. They are also known as Plano lenses, meaning they are cosmetic only, and you do not need a prescription to buy them. This is one reason why they are cheap. It costs more to get contact lenses from a pharmacist.

The Bad News?

Now for the bad news. Even though contact lenses are a great alternative to glasses and improve your appearance, the fact remains that in certain conditions, they could be a nuisance.

Some of the problems associated with wearing the cheap color contact lens, or for that matter, the expensive models, are weather conditions associated with strong wind, cold or even heat. It can't be reinforced enough that if a problem persists, then you should make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible to prevent any onset of eye infection.

Many people who need contact lenses recently switched to color contacts with corrective powers. But you donÂ’t have to be shortsighted or longsighted to enjoy a new eye color. Find out how you can get non-prescription color lenses and what you need to know to make the right choice.

What non-prescription color contacts are available?

If you are looking for non-prescription (also called plano) color lenses, the choices are great - all well-known brands offer color contacts with no prescription as well as corrective lenses. Freshlook, Acuvue 2 Colors and Durasoft Colors are the leaders in the color lens market. When making your order, you just need to specify “0” where it says power. Also you can find hundreds of no-brand non-prescription color contact lenses online.

However, it is recommended to go for a well-known brand produced by established contact lens manufacturer. The reason is that while most color contacts look great in your eyes, not all of them feel comfortable. Brand-name lenses are made from quality materials and are designed to be comfortable as well as gorgeous. On the other hand unknown color contacts can not only be uncomfortable, but plain dangerous. As you can imagine, some paints are quite toxic, so it is important to use a paint that is safe for your eyes.

Do you want to change or to enhance your natural color?

All non-prescription color contacts fall into two major groups - opaque and enhancement contact lenses. If you have light eyes, enhancement color lenses will add brightness to your natural color, making your eyes appear more interesting and stunning. To change your natural color, use opaque color lenses even if you have light eyes. For people with dark eyes, opaque color lenses are the only option.

To determine whether the lens is enhancement or opaque, look at its name. The name of the lens usually suggests whether it is opaque or enhancement contacts. Also opaque lenses might say “for dark eyes” while enhancers are often labeled “for light eyes”.

The most popular color contacts, Acuvue 2 Colors Enhancers and Acuvue 2 Colors Opaques, leave you in no doubt as to which is which. From Freshlook collections, Freshlook Colors and Freshlook Colorblends are opaque lenses, while Freshlook Dimensions and Freshlook Radiance are enhancers.

Be careful not to buy lightly tinted lenses. It is difficult to see a clear contact lens in the solution, so for your convenience most corrective lenses have a light blue tint. This tint doesnÂ’t affect your eye color at all, its only purpose is to make the lens easier to find in its case.

For non prescription color lenses you need a doctorÂ’s prescription

If you never had vision problems, you might be surprised to find out that to buy plano color lenses a person needs a doctor’s prescription. The reason is that contact lenses (including colored lenses) have more characteristics than just corrective power. It isn’t a “one size fits all” proposition - you also have to know the base curve of your eye and the recommended diameter of the lens. Only a qualified eye care practitioner can measure your eyes.

Often, people ignore the need for a prescription and order color lenses they like from the Internet. This is really not a good idea. Of course, if you intend to wear your lenses for one special occasion, probably nothing horrible will happen. But continuous wear of contact lenses that are not properly fitted can damage your eyes, even if you never had vision problems before.

However, you should check what is sold online before visiting your eye doctor for a prescription. Find several brands that offer the right colors and suit your budget. This way, you can ask your doctor to recommend lenses from your list, rather than fully rely on his or her judgment.

Tanya Turner publishes Contact Lenses Consumer Guide where you can find tips on safe contact lens shopping, reviews and price comparison of non prescription color contact lenses. The Guide also helps you select best color contact lenses providing you with photos and reviews of color contacts by different brands.

The advent of colored contact lenses has brought a revolution in the contact lens market. Colored contact lenses have become very popular among youngsters. These lenses can be enhancement lenses which are used to enhance the natural color of your eyes or they might be opaque lenses which can be used to change the color of your eyes totally. But any sort of color contact lens goes best with proper eye make up. There are various make up tips which should be kept in mind in order to give the best effect to your eyes. The make up you have to apply depends on your skin color as well as the color of the contact lens which you will wear.

These are a few tips that you should follow in order to give the best effect your eyes.

Women with fair skin: If you are wearing a green color contact lens then any shadow in neutral or light green in color will look the best. If you are wearing a blue or a turquoise contact lens then you can go for a shadow in blue but a little lighter than the color of your lens. If you are going for an amethyst or violet or a gray lens then a lavender color shadow would suit you the most. On the other hand brown or gray eyeliner will suit much more on a fair skin than black eyeliner. The eyeliner should not be too sharp. If you want to wear a blue or a turquoise contact lens then you can go for a blue mascara to give your eyes a dramatic effect.

Women with medium skin: if you have a medium dark skin then the best options for you are green, violet or blue contact lenses and natural shades would go with these lenses such as taupe, plum or brown. If you are going for turquoise or amethyst color lenses then an eye shadow in dark lavender or plum color will suit you the most.

Women with dark skin: if you have a dark skin then contact lenses of Amethyst, sapphire blue or green color will suit you the most. Bronze eye shadow will go the most with green lenses, mauve or brown shadows will go the best with blue or amethyst lenses and amber color shadow will go best with aqua or turquoise contact lenses.

You should be very careful about your eye make up as they are the most attractive and noticeable part of your body. Lipsticks also play a significant role on your eye color specially shades like dark or light pink and light or dark red would help you enhance your eye color. Always remember to apply eye make up after you have worn your color contact lens.

Why would a dog's eyes have gray lines on the pupils? Cataracts maybe?

I just noticed my dog's eyes now have gray in them. One has a line of gray right across the middle, and the other looks as though it is half the outline of a contact lens. Could this be cataracts or is it something else. I just noticed it all of a sudden. She will be 8 July 3rd so not too old, but getting up there. And just in case it matters she is a weimaraner.

when my old dog got cataracts his pupils gradually turned grey. the only way to know for sure is to get him in to a vet so they can have a look. might be a good idea in case it is something else. don't be too upset if it does turn out to be cataracts, my old boy lived many happy years even after losing most of his sight.

Want to make your costume really amazing? Then you will need to change your eyes as well and Halloween costume lenses can help with that. Find out how to get the best looking costume lenses without paying a fortune.

Who offers best selection of Halloween contacts

Have you already planned your costume and are now looking for the right Halloween contacts to go with it? Or do you just want to browse for costume lenses until you see a pair that you really like, and make the costume to match? In either case, you should first check out the two most popular collections of Halloween contact lenses - Crazy Lenses by Cooper Vision and Wild Eyes by Ciba vision. Both brands offer high quality, affordable Halloween contact lenses that create great effects.

The most popular Wild Eyes lenses are:

Alien

Blackout and whiteout

Hypnotica

Cat eye

Ice fire

Red hot

While favorites among the Crazy Lenses are:

Black, red and white spiral

Whiteout

Wolf

Fire

Bloodshot

If you didnÂ’t find a suitable design from Wild Eyes or Crazy Lenses, there are many other collections from individual artists on the Internet.

How much do costume lenses cost?

If you think that theatrical costume lenses are very expensive, you might be pleasantly surprised - you can pick up an exciting looking pare of Halloween costume lenses for about 40 dollars. Mass produced lenses like Crazy Lenses and Wild Eyes are very affordable. You can save even more if you order them online.

On the other hand, hand-painted, custom-made costume lenses could cost a few hundreds of dollars. Particulary expensive are scleral costume lenses, which cover not only your pupil and iris, but the entire visible area of your eye. Also, custom-made lenses are usually painted to order, so you would need to order them several weeks in advance.

How to care for your Halloween costume lenses

Caring for your Halloween costume contacts is quite simple - all you need is a no-rub multipurpose solution, a pair of plastic tweezers and a contact lens case. You can get it all from any chemist shop. There is no special solution for costume contact lenses so you can use any multipurpose solution - only make sure it’s marked “for soft contact lenses”. If you have several pairs of scary contacts, each should live in its own case.

Step by step care for costume lenses:

always wash your hands with soap before handling contact lenses

pick up the lens gently with tweezers (be careful not to tear it), place it on your fingertip and rinse it with a no-rub contact lens solution

now it is ready to put in your eye

after taking your costume lenses out, give them another rinse and place them in their case with fresh solution, until the next time you use them.

If you are not planning to wear your lenses for several weeks, it is recommended that you change the solution and rinse them once a week. If you forgot to do so and your lenses spent a few weeks in their case unattended, give them a double rinse and place them in fresh solution for at least a couple hours before wearing them.

For people who wear corrective or color contact lenses every day, costume lenses will feel pretty much the same as usual. If you never wore contact lenses before, at first you might feel a slight discomfort and an urge to rub your eye. One suggestion is to use lubricant drops, which you can buy from any chemist shop. Also, start wearing your lenses a few days before the party - a couple of hours the first day, 3-4 hours the second day, and so on.

Get yourself a pair of exciting and scary Halloween contacts and be the center of attention at any party!

Tanya Turner is a color contact lens expert and a founder of Contact Lenses Consumer Guide which provides you with information about all types of contact lenses including Halloween special effect contacts, and costume contact lenses reviews

If there is one man in the world of entertainment who can define comedy, it's Robin Williams. What better way to celebrate his birthday than with some funny and humorous Robin Williams quotes? While many have tried to imitate Mr. William's humor, none can quite match his charisma and charm. These 14 Robin Williams quotes are just a small example of the fun and humor that Robin Williams has provided us with.

1. "You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it."

2. "The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying, 'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and yelling, 'You want a piece of me?'"

3. "I'm a very tolerant man, except when it comes to holding a grudge."

4. "Real loss is only possible when you love something more than you love yourself."

5. "Sometimes you've got to specifically go out of your way to get into trouble. It's called fun."

6. "The first time I tried organic wheat bread, I thought I was chewing on roofing material."

7. "When I find out a hotel doesn't have a DSL, it's like 'What? There's no toilet?' Once you get used to high speed you ain't going back."

8. "Carpe per diem - seize the check."

9. "If that man in the PTL is such a healer, why can't he make his wife's hairdo go down?"

10. "Time is the best teacher, but unfortunately, it kills all of its students."

11. "Every now and then, Rumsfeld will come out and say, ‘I don't know where. I don't know when. But something awful's going to happen. Thank you, that's all for today, no further questions.' Well, could you give us a clue? What is this, the Central *Intuitive* Agency now? Are you working with Miss Cleo?"

12. "You have to remember, John Ashcroft is a man who LOST to a dead man in Missouri."

13. "This is brought to you by HBO, which is a subsidiary of Time Warner, also owned by America Online. You've got mail! I hope you don't have stocks."

14. "No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world."

While Robin's humor may, at times, be controversial, his jokes are always funny -- it's an undeniable fact. No one can get the crowds rolling and even the most uptight of people laughing like Mr. Williams can. This July let's celebrate his birthday with these 14 hilarious Robin Williams quotes enjoy some good old-fashioned laughter.

There are different terminologies regarding the types of contact lenses. Lens that are used temporally for daily wear and replaced or disposed off after a specified period of time are termed as disposable contact lenses. A doctor advises to reinstate the contact lenses to maintain the smooth functioning of the eye.

Daily wear contact lenses are available in many categories. Some are those that are substituted after every two weeks or even earlier. Frequent contact lenses are exchanged after a month or even quarterly. People frequently face two kinds of mystification i.e. about the replacement schedule and wearing schedule intervals. Daily wear contact lens manufacturers constantly work on improving contact lenses. The objective is to produce lenses that you can wear all day long without any danger or discomfort to your eyes. Daily wear contact lens quality has seriously improved over the last few years. See how modern daily wear contact lenses can help your eyes to feel and see well.

You Need to Take Care about Daily wear Contact Lenses:

Owing to the character of daily wear contact lenses and the fact that they cover a portion of the eye, there are specific care instructions that should be heeded, regardless of the type of material from which they're constructed. In addition to washing and drying your hands before handling daily wear contact lenses, you should also be sure to insert and remove them correctly; only apply make-up (carefully) after contacts have been inserted; use the specific solutions that your doctor has recommended; avoid rubbing your eyes while daily wear contact lenses are being worn; don't place your daily wear contact lenses on a warm surface, since they may melt; avoid wearing contacts when under a hair dryer or around harsh chemical fumes; don't use saliva to moisten contacts for insertion; and avoid inserting daily wear contact lenses without disinfecting them. These and many other guiding principles will keep your eyes healthy and prolong the life of your daily wear contacts.

Durable Daily Wear Contact Lenses:

Common category of daily wear contact lenses is the soft contact lens. These are prepared from a softer plastic - called hydro gel - which makes them more contented to wear, but are less long-lasting than those of the hard lens line. The water content in soft daily wear contact lenses is higher than that of the hard lens - from 25% to 79% - allowing a better flow of oxygen to the cornea. Due to the fact that the material is exceedingly porous, infections and eye irritation are more common. This happens when dust, protein and bacteria cause infectivity of the daily wear lenses, which are pushed against the facade of the cornea. Gas permeable daily wear contact lenses are more inflexible than the soft lenses, but are made of the type of plastic that allows oxygen to reach the cornea and are easier to take care of, put in and remove than the softer version.

Contacts lens solution on the plane?

I'm a contact lens wearer. How should I transport my contact lens solution on my flight since there are some restrictions? What is best in this case?
I don't plan on checking my bag.

They have a travel sized bottles of contact lens solution out that you can buy. Make sure that your bottle is 3 oz. or less so they allow you to bring it on the plane. If you need to bring more or can't find a bottle small enough of your type of contact lens solution then you will need to have it checked, also you can buy some solution when you get to your final destination.
