Pattern Metal
What good it makes to study crystalography for interpreting a metallographic section of a metal?
When studying metallography you always start with crystallography, but what's the practical use of it?. Can you actually see the crystal shape or pattern in a metallographic micrograph? I have taken several micrographs of some steels and I can recognize graphite nodules in a ferritic envelope and a pearlite substrate... How can I determine the crystal nature of a specific phase... or how does it helps me to know a certain crystal is cubic face centered to practically identify the metallographic composition or a fracture mechanism in a metallographic sample. (It is an actual question, not retorical, please forgive me if I sound too naive)
ur sounding so intelligent that i can't understand head or tail of what u asked
