how much would eyeglasses cost with a prescription of?

I'm planning on getting glasses today. I haven't bought glasses in a while and forgot more less how much they costs. I know the lens and frams cost different, but say I get a name brand frame like ralph lauren, and my presc is -2.00 and -4.25, about how much would it be all together??

Name brands do vary, Ralph Lauren or Coach, or something like Nautica all might be from $130-$200 or more. Lenses depend on what kind of lense you get. I would do a high index lense for your type of prescription. 1.74 high index would give you the closest to normal looking lense and you would have the best vision out of it with a premium AR coating. That kind of lense can cost from $175-$200 and better AR with a 2 year scratch warranty is about $100 give or take some. So you can be looking at $30)- $500 if you get good quality product. Going to a $99 place is possible, but that is for a cheap frame and regular coke bottle bottom looking lenses. Shop around, but with your RX you will see better and look better by getting premium porducts from a reputable company.
