I am interested in buying a pair of reading glasses to use as regular everyday glasses. I would need the old lenses taken out and new ones with my prescription installed. Is this possible?

These are the glasses I'm looking at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/OLD-WORLD-Round-Oval-Reading-Glasses-TORTOISE-2-75_W0QQitemZ220292844366QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item334a7a0b4e&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Also, would it be possible to install in any kind of glasses like these? I mean, acrylic or plastic frames--- is this fairly easy for the optician to do?

If it is a standard plastic material then yes, this can be done at most opticians.

What should I expect from My EMF reader?

Our paranormal investigations group recently acquired an electromagnetic field reader and I was wondering if anyone has used them and what to expect? Gung-ho as soon as we got it, a couple of us went to our favorite paranormal place to investigate, but the meter never read anything above the green area and seemed to fluctuate very little wherever we went.

Does anyone who has used these before have any tips or suggestions, or can you tell me when readings are most likely to go up?

I don't understand why you would have an EMF meter with you when investigating the paranormal. Are you looking for an electrical outlet? Since there has never been even a tenuous connection made between EMFs and paranormal events it surely can't be meant to be used to indicate a ghost.

My advice is to read the instruction manual and to operate it with the knowledge that it wasn't meant to be used in the manner you're probably using it for.

Why is it that humans feel we can continue to modify animals to our liking?

Before I begin on my rant, don't get me wrong. I think as long as domesticated animals are treated right, the mutual friendship is beneficial to both parties. I wouldn't give up my pets for anything.

I have just started reading about the sales of fish known as Painted Glass Fish.

http://z.about.com/d/freshaquarium/1/0/C/paintedfish.jpg

They look pretty cool right? But then I found out that they are injected with dye that turns them neon but causes severe irritation, their natural slime coats are stripped so the color lasts longer, and overall they die extremely young, often from cancer and tumors.

I am thinking about so much beyond the fish right now, and I'm sure you know what, but any way, I'm frustrated. When were humans given the right to make animals suffer just so they can make more of a profit?

Because we have the brain capacity to be able to do this unlike any other animal. No reason not to as it is natural to do so. Humans are part of nature, you know.

the second one

Never try to pierce yourself.

Go to a professional piercer only. Doctors may disapprove of the piercing you want, and the piercers at chain stores or mall booths are generally inadequately trained.

Know your health. Are you a fast healer? Do you eat junk food and smoke? How you treat your body in general will make a large difference in how fast and well your piercing heals

Know your pain tolerance. Everyone's is different, so you can't just ask a few people how much theirs hurt. Different body parts will give different amounts of pain. In general, most agree that cartilage and deep piercings hurt more, although this may not be true for all people

Where can I find a pair of Silver Leather Low All Stars in a UK size 5?

Ive been seaching all over the place and can only find ones in sizes 3 and 8. Anyone know why they arent available in a size 5?

Go to http://converse.com and click on shop, then shoes, then click in the right hand colour (whites, greys, silvers), lo top, leather, and chuck taylor all stars. there are (currently) sequinned silver, silver with converse written on the side, and silver with gay pink laces (but maybe you like it like that). i think they only ship to america however, so you may need a mail forwarding service (depending where you live).

I'm in Australia, and there's no leather low top silver chuckies here at the moment - check out your country's Converse site to see what shoes should be in the country. And if all else fails, try factory outlets. They should have last years/season's colours - although uk 5 is a very common size, so there probably won't be many! good luck.

-Montgomery College
-Mt. Sierra College
-*******UC Santa Cruz*****

Modern closet doors are often seen as an easy choice for helping to bring your interior rooms up to date. From sliding or mirror paneled doors to louvered and frosted glass doors there are many options to choose from. Depending on your interior area, bifold doors or dividers, even organizers or divider systems can be used. The location in the interior of your home will also dictate the type of modern closet doors you would need, or would like to show off your stylish flair with.

Modern closet doors offer a wide array of styles and colors to help update your closets. Many people do this type of redecorating to be different, and add items such as windows to closets or even use them as a fashion statement. Sliding doors of the past or louvered doors are being traded in for contemporary dividers and organizers with a frosted glass look for a more open appearance. Remember that just because you trade up the interior door for a better model does not mean you should keep the same hardware.

Hardware for doors varies, as many remodeling professionals will tell. Sliding doors offer a track much like bifold doors. Frosted glass doors are generally fashioned in the same way as an entrance door to a home and requires a set of wall mounted hinges and pins. The prices for additional hardware will vary based on the depot or location you purchase them from, as there are many options to choose from. Many interior doors are not sold with the hardware they require, and therefore you will have to purchase this separately at your local store. Brass or gold hinges are more expensive pieces of hardware than the aluminum or nickel hardware options. Therefore the depot you purchase the contemporary or modern closet doors from should be checked for corresponding hardware.

Any time a new door is being purchased, make sure to have the dimensions of the old doorway. Sliding doors have different dimensions than bifold doors or dividers, even doors with windows. Many contemporary doors are smaller than was previously made, therefore it may be required that a different type of door be used than what you are interested in. It may also be required that walls or a walk way be installed along with a new doorway so that the new contemporary door will fit the dimensions.

When using modern closet doors, it is advised that organizers and divider systems be used to make room. Even though there is a new door on the front of the closet, the fact that the new door could have windows or frosted glass would allow visitors to see the contents. This would mean that a clutter would be visible unless organizers or divider systems would be needed. For the best outcome, modern closet doors should be compared. From prices and hardware to different door systems and extras such as windows, the options are endless to bring your interior up to date with new modern closet doors.

How to get the shower screen hinge chrome?

I have just got a bath shower screen, the hinge (that goes on the wall and the pivoting bit) are gold and i want them to be chrome to match the rest of my bathroom. What product and how should i do it to make the hinge a shiny chrome

Thanks x
I want to do it myself. Could i spray paint it chrome, i do know you can get chrome spray paint

Go to the paint section at Lowe's. They should have a product called a metal bonding primer (not sure of the brand name). At my Lowe's, I have found the bonding primer near the TSP and other solvents. Get some metal bonding primer and get some chrome paint. If you can, remove the doors and hinge and paint the hinge separately. If not, use a small brush to apply the bonding primer and the chrome paint. You can paint it without the bonding primer but the primer ensures a good solid bond without flaking and chipping, especially in a humid environment such as a bathroom.

Good luck!
