When studying metallography you always start with crystallography, but what's the practical use of it?. Can you actually see the crystal shape or pattern in a metallographic micrograph? I have taken several micrographs of some steels and I can recognize graphite nodules in a ferritic envelope and a pearlite substrate... How can I determine the crystal nature of a specific phase... or how does it helps me to know a certain crystal is cubic face centered to practically identify the metallographic composition or a fracture mechanism in a metallographic sample. (It is an actual question, not retorical, please forgive me if I sound too naive)

Do you think square, hot pink eyeglasses would look good on a heart-shaped face with brown eyes and brown hair for a 15 year-old girl? If not, any ideas for the color of frames I should get? I know I'm definitely getting square frames but I don't know what color.

The glasses would look like this, but hot pink:

http://static.flickr.com/95/235202795_3a6c20d55e.jpg

I have similar glasses that are a light shade of purple but look black and are a lot thinner.
Those look really thick.
Black is always best because it matches with everything.
Its best to go to the store and try them on.
Good Luck.

Help with finding Vogue eyeglasses?!?!?

As any glasses wearer knows finding new frames can be a real challenge. I recently found these Vogue eyeglasses i really liked but now I am looking for them again and I cannot seem to find them. They are black plastic frames with a wooden paneling on the sides. The wood is almost an oatmeal color. I last saw them at Pearle Vision but the last time I went there and they were gone. Any help would be appreciated eyeglass frame number, web site with a picture, store/location, like I said any help would be great. Thanks so much!!!!

Maybe you can go back to Pearle Vision and ask them. They probably keep track of orders and inventory. Maybe they can even provide you with a catalogue. I'd try Lenscrafters too, as I know they sell the Vogue brand.

i know why not buy a pair... these frames are special
but do u guys know any material that i can cut easily and put
them around my glasses frame to make fake glasses?

10points:)

Yes, acrylic plastic - Plexiglas - that you can buy at any hardware store works fine. You can also buy thicker plex from plastic suppliers. It would really help of you had the old lenses as a pattern because tracing inside the frame will make the lenses too small. You are going to either draw outside the traced outline or carefully cut the same distance away from the line around. Cutting a tight curve on plex can be frustrating as it is brittle and as a coping saw blade cuts it heats and starts snagging the plastic and will break it. Polycarbonate (Lexan) is available as thin as 1/8" from plastic suppliers (like Regal Plastics in Dallas) costs somewhat more but is less brittle.
Depending on your fit, you may be able to heat the frames in hot water and snap the flat lenses in or you may have to glue them.
