Yes you can. They will not be comfortable when you first put them in but they will be OK. Try and use bottled water or at least some sort of filtered water if you can.

HELP! Setting the aperture in Nikon D60 with 18-55mm VR lens?

I have recently bought my first DSLR - Nikon D60 with 18-55mm VR kit lens.

I tried setting the aperture to 3.5 when I zoomed in completely in "A" mode but it doesn't work and sticks to 5.6. The same happens in the "M" mode. I cannot blame the "S" mode as in this mode the camera controls the aperture itself.

I need to know is my camera faulty or is there any other way around?

I want to take portrait shots with blurry background and I have learned from some resources that the aperture should be maximum or the lowest value, 3.5 in case of the 18-55mm VR kit lens.

Do I need to buy another lens for portrait photography?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Mere Mortal is correct on his explanation of a variable aperture zoom. So, yes, to get a shallow depth of field, you need to purchase a different lens.

Here is one of the downsides to the D40/D60 line. On the Canon side, they have a decent 50mm F1.8 that gives a great DOF and is only around $100. Nikon does not have an equivalent lens that will autofocus on the D40/D60, so you wind up buying something more expensive.

contact lense solution in the contact case/holder?

How often should I dump the solution out of the contact lens case? I just got contacts and the doc never went over that with me.... maybe he will tell me after my trial week i dunno.

Everytime you put your contact lenses in, you should dump out the solution in your case. After dumping the solution, you need to clean your case and let it air dry in a safe place. This needs to be done everyday!!! Also you should replace your case frequently...at least once a month!! It is important you keep your case clean and with fresh solution. This helps prevent bacteria from growing and contaminating your lenses. Lenses that are contaminated can cause an eye infection! You should check out the links I posted... In case he missed telling you anything else you need to know about contact lens care!

What's better Renu multipurpose solution or Opti-free replenish?

I wear purevision's silicon hydrogels, which seem to be hydrophillic. They allow more oxygen, but become dry, so i haven't been able to wear them for more than 13 hours. I heard that renu disinfects better than optifree, but it isn't comfortable. Which is better overall for silicon hydrogel contact lenses? I got a lot of corneal ulcers with opt-free making me skeptical of switching back. Yet the renu doesn't feel comforatble.

I've been using the generic version of the Renu multipurpose for a couple years now. It's worked well for me.

Hello Kitty is known as being one of the most well-known and popular characters in the Sanrio collection. She has many friends including her Papa, Mama, Mimmy, Tim and Tammy, Mory, Cathy, Thomas, Jody and many more! Hello Kitty lives in a world where everyone has a loving, caring family, with great manners and many friends.

In this fictional world Hello Kitty lives with her family which includes her Mama, Papa, and twin sister Mimmy. She has been one of the most popular fictional characters in the Sanrio collection which is a Japanese based company. When Hello Kitty was first introduced she became extremely popular among Japanese school girls, and eventually made her way to Britain as well as America.

Even though Hello Kitty was born in Japan, she is British and her family lives in Suburban London. Her weight is said to be three shiny apples and her most favorite dish is her Mama's Apple Pie. Hello Kitty also enjoys many different activities including traveling, reading, listening to music, eating cookies, making new friends, and collecting all kinds of cute items such as goldfish and candies! Hello Kitty will always remain a kitten even though she was born on November 1, 1974.

Hello Kitty is so popular that they have even made her the star of her very own animated TV series in both Japan and America. On top of that, she plays the main role in the Hello Kitty Animation Theatre which features popular remakes of classic fairy tales. Hello Kitty products are featured on a diverse line of goods and products such as Hello Kitty bookbags, Hello Kitty bedding, and the much sought-after Hello Kitty digital camera. With goods ranging from soft, plushy animal toys up to purses, digital cameras and clothing, the Hello Kitty brand has become a logo recognized around the world. Further increasing the popularity of Hello Kitty products are the photos of famous celebrities sporting Hello Kitty products; even a Hello Kitty credit card.

Can I use the same contact lens case?

I'm thinking about buying this Sanrio contact lens case that comes with:
-compact with mirror
-forceps (tweezers)
-bottle for solution
-contact lens container (screw-lid)

So the contact lens case itself is regular plastic (I think), and since the lids are painted to look pretty and all, I don't wanna waste it. So is it ok to use the same one over and over? If so, do you have any tips for cleaning them thoroughly?

And if anyone knows how to clean the bottle that holds the solution, please lemme know about that as well. Thanks ;]
I only started wearing contacts, so please, try to understand my confusion.

First of all, your question is in the totally wrong category, but be that as it may.

Have you no experience at all with contacts? It does not sound like it.

You do not have to throw away a contact lens case each time it is used. You use it over and over. There is not really any "cleaning" done to the case. After you remove the contacts, you pour out the solution that was in the case, rinse it with some new solution, pour that out, and let it AIR DRY with the lids off. That is it.

As for the "bottle for solution", that makes no sense at all. All contact lens solutions come in sterile bottles. You NEVER pour contact lens solutions into some other bottle. That is absurd, unsanitary, and would likely lead to eye infection. You use the solution from the bottle it comes in.

I also don't know why your would need tweezers for contacts. You certainly don't use them to put the contacts in your eyes. All handling of contacts is done with your fingers. You would run the risk of tearing a lens if you tried to handle it with some kind of tweezers.

It sounds like you need to have an eye doctor sit down with you and teach you some things and forget about these goofy accessories you are looking at.
