Can I put my contacts in water overnight?

Hey, I purchased some Ciba Vision - Freshlook Color soft contact lenses and have run out of solution, is it possible to put them in water just for tonight?

Yes you can. They will not be comfortable when you first put them in but they will be OK. Try and use bottled water or at least some sort of filtered water if you can.

can i use the bausch&lomb renu multi-purpose solution with my acuvue 2 contacts?

i was wondering if using this brand of solution whith these contacts would do any harm and if it was good to use them together or not.

Yes, you can use this solution. Lots of people use it with Acuvue lenses

Here is one of the downsides to the D40/D60 line. On the Canon side, they have a decent 50mm F1.8 that gives a great DOF and is only around $100. Nikon does not have an equivalent lens that will autofocus on the D40/D60, so you wind up buying something more expensive.

How often should I dump the solution out of the contact lens case? I just got contacts and the doc never went over that with me.... maybe he will tell me after my trial week i dunno.

Everytime you put your contact lenses in, you should dump out the solution in your case. After dumping the solution, you need to clean your case and let it air dry in a safe place. This needs to be done everyday!!! Also you should replace your case frequently...at least once a month!! It is important you keep your case clean and with fresh solution. This helps prevent bacteria from growing and contaminating your lenses. Lenses that are contaminated can cause an eye infection! You should check out the links I posted... What's better Renu multipurpose solution or Opti-free replenish?

I wear purevision's silicon hydrogels, which seem to be hydrophillic. They allow more oxygen, but become dry, so i haven't been able to wear them for more than 13 hours. I heard that renu disinfects better than optifree, but it isn't comfortable. Which is better overall for silicon hydrogel contact lenses? I got a lot of corneal ulcers with opt-free making me skeptical of switching back. Yet the renu doesn't feel comforatble.

I've been using the generic version of the Renu multipurpose for a couple years now. It's worked well for me.

Can I use the same contact lens case?

I'm thinking about buying this Sanrio contact lens case that comes with:
-compact with mirror
-forceps (tweezers)
-bottle for solution
-contact lens container (screw-lid)

First of all, your question is in the totally wrong category, but be that as it may.

Have you no experience at all with contacts? It does not sound like it.

You do not have to throw away a contact lens case each time it is used. You use it over and over. There is not really any "cleaning" done to the case. After you remove the contacts, you pour out the solution that was in the case, rinse it with some new solution, pour that out, and let it AIR DRY with the lids off. That is it.

As for the "bottle for solution", that makes no sense at all. All contact lens solutions come in sterile bottles. You NEVER pour contact lens solutions into some other bottle. That is absurd, unsanitary, and would likely lead to eye infection. You use the solution from the bottle it comes in.

I also don't know why your would need tweezers for contacts. You certainly don't use them to put the contacts in your eyes. All handling of contacts is done with your fingers. You would run the risk of tearing a lens if you tried to handle it with some kind of tweezers.

It sounds like you need to have an eye doctor sit down with you and teach you some things and forget about these goofy accessories you are looking at.
